Sogou is enhancing its mobile app, used by over 300 million users in China, with augmented reality (AR) and driver assistance features by utilizing the Vision SDK on Beijing's roads. The app projects 3D turn-by-turn directions onto the road, automatically calibrating the camera for seamless AR integration, and offers features like a dynamic 2D map, spoken directions, and lane detection that synchronize with lane-level maps for improved navigation. Additionally, driver assistance elements provide speeding alerts by comparing vehicle speed with local limits, and the Vision SDK's sign classification enhances functionality by detecting changes such as new speed limits or construction signs. Sogou's rapid development of these features is highlighted as part of a preview, with further resources and a webinar on May 21st available for those interested in the Vision SDK.
