Mapbox has significantly enhanced the satellite imagery of Israel by improving their resolution fourfold, providing the highest available clarity for tasks such as trip planning, delivery verification, and urban navigation. This improvement follows the 2020 amendment of the U.S. Kyl-Bingaman law, which previously restricted American companies from offering images of Israel at resolutions exceeding 2 meters per pixel, now allowing resolutions up to 40 centimeters. Collaborating with data provider Maxar, Mapbox offers the Vivid product at a 50-centimeter resolution, aligning Israel's satellite imagery with global standards updated in late 2020. The updated images, some captured in summer 2021, deliver detailed views of buildings, roads, and landscapes, and their integration into GL JS v2 offers a unique, detailed 3D perspective.
