The 3D terrain rendering capability seamlessly integrates with existing map features, while a new exaggeration factor allows dynamic terrain manipulation. The Sky API enhances atmospheric realism by simulating sun direction and sky colors based on geographic location and time. Progressive map rendering significantly reduces perceived load times, making interactions smoother. GL JS v2 is available on a pay-as-you-go basis, with a generous free tier for initial use, and all new features are exclusive to v2, with open collaboration encouraged via GitHub.
