Summary

Mapbox has expanded its public-preview building entrance data in the Geocoding API to 19 European countries, covering more than 100 million addresses and supplementing existing United States and Canadian availability. Enabled through the existing `entrances=true` parameter in API versions 5 and 6, the feature adds entrance coordinates alongside rooftop and routable points without requiring a separate endpoint or integration. The data is intended to improve last-meter navigation for delivery, logistics, mobility, and field-service applications, particularly in dense urban areas and large properties where a building-level location may not identify the correct door. Delivery company Hovership, an early U.S. adopter, reported 43% fewer failed first delivery attempts, 63% fewer incorrect-address failures, and 44% fewer no-access failures at locations with entrance data. Mapbox notes that the feature remains in public preview and that parameters, response structures, and coverage may change, while accounts can test it using the platform’s monthly allocation of 100,000 free geocoding requests.
