Blog post from Mapbox
Mapbox partner Haptic, renowned for its tactile navigation technology, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards for its innovative HapticNav app, which is nominated in the "Tech4Good - Best Use of Mobile for Accessibility & Inclusion" category. The GLOMO Awards recognize advancements in mobile technology that enhance accessibility for people with disabilities and older users, and winners will be announced at MWC Barcelona 2025. Haptic's flagship product, the HapticNav SDK, uses vibrational feedback for navigation, allowing users to navigate hands-free without relying on sight or sound, and has previously enabled a blind runner to complete a marathon independently. Collaborating with Mapbox, Haptic leverages the Mapbox Navigation SDK and Directions API to offer an accessible navigation experience, particularly beneficial for visually impaired users. At MWC Barcelona, Mapbox will showcase its mapping and location technology solutions designed to modernize network operations for major telecommunications organizations, enabling consumer and enterprise IoT services, enhancing location intelligence, and supporting telcos in delivering value-added services and optimizing operations.
