Mapbox has introduced Isochrones with the "depart_at" functionality, enhancing its Isochrone API by enabling users to predict estimated times of arrival (ETAs) for specific days and times, utilizing the company's proprietary traffic data sourced from over 700 million monthly active users. This feature allows users to create isochrones that incorporate predicted traffic patterns for future dates, providing high-resolution temporal and spatial analyses that are crucial for planning purposes. The data, supported by more than 400 billion monthly live location updates and validated against over 1 million daily trips, ensures accuracy by using machine learning to refine predictions. Users can integrate this feature into their workflow by appending a departure time in ISO-8601 format to their API call, allowing the isochrone to account for historic traffic data and conditional restrictions relevant to the specified time.
