Every April, Mapbox celebrates Global Volunteer Month by encouraging its global team to engage in community service projects, with employees participating in various initiatives worldwide. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Mapboxers collaborated with Kids & Art to create art kits for pediatric patients, while in Seattle, they sorted over 12,000 pounds of potatoes at Food Lifeline for local food banks and shelters. The London team partnered with the British Heart Foundation to sort donations, and in Washington DC, employees served lunch with So Others May Eat (SOME), a nonprofit addressing poverty and homelessness. In Berlin, Mapbox volunteers worked with Berliner Tafel to address food waste and poverty, and in Minsk and Tokyo, teams cleaned local parks. The Helsinki team supported operations at a local animal shelter managed by Helsingin Eläinsuojeluyhdistys Hesy. Beyond these efforts, Mapbox donates services to hundreds of nonprofits and NGOs, including World Central Kitchen and UNHCR, fostering a positive global impact.
