Expanded support for raster data enhances weather and imagery visualizations

In April, Mapbox launched a private beta for processing, styling, and rendering high-precision raster data, enabling support for processing NetCDF and GRIB rasters, as well as GeoTIFF raster data, to all its customers. This allows users to efficiently process and visualize weather data with improved visualization and flexible styling options. The new capabilities also enable particle animation for more engaging maps, bringing custom imagery to meet business needs, and improving the presentation of raster data with more control over styling and sharing options. Additionally, Multi-Region support enhances reliability and compliance by protecting against region-wide outages and enabling data sovereignty requirements. With full documentation available, customers can start building with rasters in Mapbox's Mapbox Tiling Service (MTS).
