Configuration involves activating an email plan, creating an address, enabling authentication, and entering the credentials in clients such as Thunderbird or plugins such as WP Mail SMTP; incoming mail can use POP3 at pop.secureserver.net on port 995 or IMAP at imap.secureserver.net on port 993. Common setup problems include invalid credentials, blocked ports or firewalls, and disabled authentication. GoDaddy is positioned as convenient for existing hosting customers and low-volume professional email, but daily sending limits, restricted external SMTP routing on many plans, limited analytics, and minimal template support may make it unsuitable for larger marketing campaigns, where dedicated providers can offer higher volume, analytics, templates, APIs, and additional delivery infrastructure.
