Sending Emails Using Batch Files

Batch files with .BAT or .CMD extensions can automate email delivery through SMTP when paired with an email-sending utility and valid server credentials. The process involves creating a script, selecting an SMTP provider such as Mailtrap or common services including Gmail, Office 365, and Outlook, and configuring the provider’s server address, port, authentication details, and encryption settings. The examples describe three command-line approaches: SendEmail.exe, BLAT, and PowerShell, each of which can specify sender and recipient addresses, subjects, message bodies, and SMTP connection parameters. PowerShell can additionally generate a temporary script, create an SMTP client, enable SSL, supply credentials, and send messages, while its mail-message functionality can attach files by defining an attachment path and adding it before delivery.
