Graviton-Based Lambda Functions, What It Means For You
Blog post from Lumigo
AWS has announced support for AWS Lambda functions powered by 64-bit Arm-based processors called Graviton2, which offer a better price to performance ratio compared to x86_64 architectures. When creating a new Lambda function, users can now select between these two architectures, and Lumigo already supports Graviton2 Lambda functions. The Graviton2 processor is expected to be 20% cheaper than the x86 architecture and offers up to 34% better price-performance improvement, but performance may vary depending on the workload. This new feature allows users to make smart trade-offs for different workloads and scenarios, such as IO-heavy functions or CPU-intensive Machine Learning models, while also providing a function-by-function decision-making process through tools like Lumigo.
