We're simplifying how billing works on Lovable

Lovable is implementing an update to its billing system aimed at providing users with clearer tracking and simpler usage of credits without changing the existing plan prices or the cost structures of credits. The update addresses two main pieces of customer feedback: the need for greater transparency in spending and the removal of the distinction between building and running apps, which previously had separate billing structures. This involves creating a unified credit balance for both building and running applications, visible through a revamped billing dashboard called Plans & credit usage, which offers detailed insights into credit allocation across projects, members, and services. The change simplifies the billing process by converting existing Cloud and AI credit balances into a single balance of Lovable credits while maintaining consistent costs and free credit offerings for different subscription plans. The transition to this new system requires no user action as workspaces will be automatically migrated, with all prior credits and services remaining functional and unchanged.
