Lovable’s compliance and your app: what’s covered, what’s your responsibility
Blog post from Lovable
Lovable’s SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001:2022, GDPR support, and AIUC-1 certifications provide evidence about the platform’s security, privacy, and AI-risk practices, but they do not automatically extend to applications built on it or certify customers’ businesses. Builders remain responsible for assessing their own systems, implementing controls, and obtaining independent audits if they need their own SOC 2 report or ISO certification. For GDPR, app operators must determine what personal data they collect, establish lawful processing grounds, map data flows across hosting and third-party services, provide accurate privacy notices, manage retention, secure access, and respond to applicable user requests such as deletion or correction. Lovable generally acts as a processor for data in customer apps, while the app owner is typically the controller, and its compliance materials can support vendor assessments rather than replace them. The company offers project-based trust centers and is developing integrations and tools to help builders assess data handling and control gaps, while emphasizing that AI-assisted reviews are starting points and that compliance ultimately requires business decisions, documented policies, evidence, and, where necessary, independent review.
