Lovable has expanded from informal MCP-based connections, which provide AI agents with chat context but do not transfer to collaborators or published apps, to nearly 100 app connectors that let users integrate external services into deployed applications. After initially launching stateless integrations such as Firecrawl, ElevenLabs, and Perplexity, the company developed a Connector Gateway to securely manage OAuth credentials, token refreshes, concurrent requests, caching, and security controls without exposing secrets to deployed apps. Although AI can generate connector code quickly, Lovable emphasizes quality through internal testing, continuous evaluations, beta releases, API monitoring, and collaboration with service providers, supporting a rollout pace of one to three connectors weekly and more than one million connections. The company reports that connector-enabled projects show higher engagement and visitor activity, while future work focuses on stronger workspace-level access controls to prevent unintended data sharing. Lovable has also launched app user connectors, allowing published apps to securely connect each individual user’s accounts, enabling developers to build SaaS products and internal tools that access services such as calendars or social platforms.
