MySafe, a project conceived by a group of computer science students—Youssef, Bogdan, Lucas, and Fadi—at a Canadian hackathon organized by Tailed, addresses concerns about personal and community safety by providing a real-time incident map populated with community-contributed data. Inspired by the functionality of Waze, the app allows users to report incidents, view global safety data, and receive real-time updates to plan safer journeys, complemented by an AI-powered chatbot offering safety forecasts. Utilizing Lovable’s robust tech stack, the team rapidly developed a functional prototype despite challenges like resource limitations and AI integration issues, showcasing the transformative potential of Lovable’s platform. Their successful collaboration not only led to a working prototype within a tight timeframe but also paved the way for future expansion of MySafe into a globally recognized platform, aiming to introduce more advanced features for enhanced safety. This project exemplifies how technology-driven innovation, guided by a genuine concern for societal issues, can create impactful solutions and highlights the team's dedication to addressing real-world challenges.
