Previously, users relied on the Prometheus CloudWatch exporter to send metrics to Logz.io, but the new approach requires no coding and facilitates near real-time analytics, though it may incur additional costs. Setup involves creating a Kinesis delivery stream with specified settings, connecting it to CloudWatch, and selecting relevant metrics, resulting in an efficient infrastructure monitoring solution that stores data for 18 months without extra management overhead.
