The anti-persona: Learning from users who churn fast
Blog post from LogRocket
In UX design, an anti-persona is a profile of users who are not ideal for a product, providing insights into why certain users churn quickly or have unmet expectations. Creating an anti-persona involves identifying fast-churning users, understanding their reasons for leaving, and differentiating between issues relevant and irrelevant to the product's intended scope. This process helps in refining product communication, evaluating traffic sources, and potentially adjusting the product or marketing strategies to better align with target users. If a significant number of users fit an anti-persona, it may indicate a need to consider their needs or adjust the product offering, whereas a small or scattered pattern might suggest no immediate action is necessary. Anti-personas, alongside proto-personas, offer a comprehensive understanding of user fit, guiding design, messaging, and feature prioritization.
