In May 2025, Google acquired the AI-powered UI design tool Galileo AI, rebranding it as Google Stitch, which has been instrumental in transforming text prompts into polished designs since 2022. Google Stitch excels in facilitating rapid UI ideation, design exploration, user flow mapping, and multi-platform design creation, offering enhanced features such as free access, code export capabilities, and two performance modes powered by different Gemini models. Despite its strengths, Stitch faces challenges, including limited accessibility compliance, design uniformity, and static cross-platform layouts, which prevent it from replacing human designers. Although it cannot fully replace designers yet, Stitch's ongoing development and integration with Gemini models highlight its potential to significantly influence the design process and reshape the future of design.
