Claude Code for product managers: a practical guide
Blog post from LightSprint
Claude Code is Anthropic’s AI coding agent, which product managers can use through the terminal, desktop app, web, code editors, or mobile to explore codebases, ask product-related questions, prototype changes, and integrate context from tools such as Jira, Linear, Notion, and Google Drive through MCP. PMs can begin by obtaining repository access, using plan mode to review proposed changes before edits, and relying on shared CLAUDE.md instructions to follow team conventions. Common uses include verifying whether features exist, building prototypes on real code, reviewing backlogs or blocked tickets, creating documentation, and automating recurring tasks with commands. Although Claude Code enables non-engineers to propose changes in plain language, shipping work still requires engineering review, access controls, stakeholder feedback, and standard pull-request processes. The text presents LightSprint as a separate collaborative workspace that uses agents such as Claude or Codex in shared sessions, provides visual planning and live sandbox previews, and preserves existing branch rules and engineer approval requirements before merges.
