We've raised $8.4m to build the BI tool we always wanted

Lightdash, an open-source business intelligence (BI) tool designed to enhance the workflow of modern data analysts, has raised $8.4 million in funding, with $6 million led by Accel and a previously unannounced $2.4 million led by Moonfire Ventures. The company, launched in May 2021, aims to address the limitations of existing BI tools by integrating seamlessly with dbt projects and offering a developer-centric approach to analytics. Over the past 17 months, Lightdash has grown its team, launched a community, and introduced Lightdash Cloud, a managed version of its product, making it easier for users to adopt without managing their own infrastructure. The funding will support the expansion of the Lightdash community, the addition of new team members, and the development of new features to improve BI workflows. Accel's Andrei Brasoveanu, alongside a group of prominent angels from the tech industry, supports the company's mission to create a forward-thinking BI platform.
