Lightdash raises $11M Series A led by Accel
Blog post from Lightdash
Lightdash has successfully secured an $11 million Series A investment led by Accel, with participation from Shopify Ventures, Operator Partners, Y Combinator, and Moonfire, alongside several prominent angel investors. The company has developed a business intelligence platform that is favored by data teams from companies like Beauty Pie, Hypebeast, and Morning Brew due to its powerful development workflows, semantic layer support, and integration with tools like dbt, facilitating a unified source of truth for data. Lightdash aims to empower data teams to function like software teams by incorporating software engineering best practices into analytics, enabling more team members to independently access and utilize data. Over the past two years, usage has surged by 50 times, with a significant portion of queries being made by non-data team members. Lightdash is advancing its self-service capabilities with the launch of an AI Analyst service that allows users to interact with data using natural language, alongside a forthcoming Data Catalog feature designed to simplify metric and KPI discovery. The company is expanding its team across various roles in the US and Europe to further enhance its product offerings and scalability.
