LambdaTest has introduced AI-Native Smart Heal, a feature designed to address the issue of locator failures in automation tests on real devices, which can occur due to minor UI changes. Powered by AI/ML algorithms, Smart Heal automatically detects, analyzes, and resolves these failures during runtime, maintaining the resilience of automation scripts despite frequent UI updates. Before Smart Heal, locator failures led to brittle tests, time-consuming maintenance, pipeline instability, delayed releases, and poor debugging visibility. The key benefits of Smart Heal include resilient test automation, faster release cycles, reduced maintenance efforts, improved CI/CD reliability, and transparent healing logs. It operates by creating and updating a baseline of element locators, detecting and healing missing elements using AI, and providing intelligent suggestions when healing isn't possible. Smart Heal's effectiveness is enhanced by its operation on LambdaTest’s real device cloud and continuous learning from successful test runs, ensuring that tests are validated in realistic environments. Currently in closed beta, Smart Heal promises to make automation testing smarter and more efficient, with plans for public release under AI credits.
