Summary

AWS Lambda now offers virtual machines with 1, 2, or 4 NVIDIA Quadro RTX 6000 GPUs on its GPU cloud. The new instance types start at $0.75 per hour and offer more GPU VRAM and options compared to previous instances. They also come preinstalled with the latest software including Tensorflow 2.3, PyTorch 1.6, and CUDA 10. In a price-to-performance comparison, the 4-GPU RTX 6000 instance provides roughly 80% of the performance of a comparable p3.8xlarge instance at about 40% of its cost. The new instances are not spot instances, offering on-demand access without termination risks.
