Lambda to integrate open-source NVIDIA Run:ai with its Managed Kubernetes Service
Blog post from Lambda
Lambda plans to offer NVIDIA Run:ai as a first-class managed option within Lambda Kubernetes Service (LKS) following NVIDIA’s open-source release of the GPU orchestration platform. Run:ai extends Kubernetes with GPU-aware scheduling, fractional GPU sharing, quotas, priorities, and fair-share policies intended to improve utilization and throughput across teams with changing AI workload requirements. LKS will manage the underlying Kubernetes infrastructure by monitoring GPU nodes for hardware and network faults, isolating unhealthy nodes, draining workloads, and automatically remediating or escalating failures before returning nodes to service. Lambda, which has supported customer-deployed Run:ai since 2022, aims to package, validate, maintain, and operate the integration as part of its AI software library, giving users more control over GPU allocation while maintaining infrastructure reliability.
