Natural conversation, live retrieval: Keenable search with Gradium

Gradium and Keenable have partnered to integrate Keenable’s live web search into Gradbot, Gradium’s open-source framework for real-time voice agents, aiming to reduce the pauses that typically occur when agents need current or obscure information. Voice models can answer facts contained in their training data, but rapidly changing details such as news, prices, flight delays, local business hours, and niche technical information require web retrieval, which conventional search APIs often deliver too slowly for natural conversation. Gradium provides low-latency streaming speech-to-text and text-to-speech, while Keenable reports web retrieval times below 200 milliseconds, allowing search to operate within an agent’s reasoning loop rather than interrupting speech. A hosted demonstration at gradium.keenable.ai lets users test agents that retrieve and speak live web information during conversations, and both companies provide documentation for integrating the tools into other systems.
