The CLion 2026.2 Roadmap: Simplified Debugger Configuration and the Ability to Use Multiple Zephyr West Profiles | The CLion Blog
Blog post from JetBrains
CLion's upcoming 2026.2 release is set to focus on enhancing build tools, project formats, and debugging capabilities, with a particular emphasis on simplifying debugger configuration and supporting multiple Zephyr West profiles. The new release aims to streamline the debugging process by introducing a unified configuration workflow and enabling easier inspection of fields and global variables, while also allowing configuration-specific breakpoints. Improvements are planned for the Project tool window UI to better handle external sources, and CMake target renaming will be simplified with a new refactoring operation. Additionally, support for the Bazel plugin will be expanded, and updates to bundled toolchains, including CMake, GDB, and GCC, are anticipated. Embedded developers will benefit from improved management of Zephyr West build configurations and extended live watch capabilities for global variables. The Early Access Program will soon allow users to explore these features before the official release.
