JetBrains’ State of CI/CD in 2026 report combines findings from four studies to examine pipeline usage, infrastructure choices, tool adoption, and AI’s evolving role in software delivery. Among DevOps practitioners surveyed, 83.4% use CI/CD pipelines, while 72.8% operate their primary systems on premises or through self-managed cloud infrastructure; 30.5% specifically use on-premises installations, the highest proportion in five years. AI is used for at least one CI/CD-related task by 48.8% of organizations, though only 8% embed AI-powered steps directly in builds or tests, with more common applications including code review, test creation and repair, and build-failure diagnosis.
