Summary

Lauterbach and JetBrains announced an integration between TRACE32 debugging tools and the CLion C/C++ IDE that lets embedded developers debug applications running on target hardware without leaving their development environment. Using the Debug Adapter Protocol and the TRACE32 Debug Adapter, developers can launch a new TRACE32 PowerView session or attach CLion to an existing instance, then control execution, step through code, and inspect variables while TRACE32 manages hardware communication. The feature requires CLion 2026.2.4 or later, TRACE32 PowerView 09.2026 or build 195402, and TRACE32 Debug Adapter 0.1.2 or later. The companies position the integration as an extension of CLion’s coding, navigation, testing, and embedded workflows alongside TRACE32’s debugging, tracing, performance analysis, and code-coverage capabilities across the embedded product life cycle. JetBrains and Lauterbach will demonstrate the integration in a free webinar on October 27, 2026.
