Introducing TeamCity’s New Design, Phase II: Creation Flow | The TeamCity Blog
Blog post from JetBrains
TeamCity's redesign focuses on improving the creation flow to enhance user experience by making it more intuitive and less cluttered, thereby allowing both new and experienced users to achieve a successful build with minimal effort. The updated design introduces a cohesive UI that simplifies the project creation process, which previously required over 20 clicks and often left users unaware of advanced features. A significant change is the separation of project creation and build configuration flows, providing clarity and predictability, along with the introduction of pipelines distinct from build configurations. The redesign also includes easier integration with version control systems, the ability to create projects directly from a VCS root, and the visibility of templates in the setup flow to streamline processes and reduce redundancy. After multiple design iterations and user testing, the first version of the new design is live, promising a more approachable and efficient experience for TeamCity users.
