Getting Started with Air in JetBrains IDEs – Part 1 - The JetBrains Blog
Blog post from JetBrains
JetBrains Air integrates coding agents into JetBrains IDEs, allowing developers to launch, monitor, and review multiple agent sessions alongside their normal coding, testing, and debugging work. Available through the JetBrains Marketplace plugin and built into the 2026.3 EAP, Air supports agents including Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Claude Agent, Junie, and other ACP-compatible tools, while leaving users in control of which providers they connect and what data is shared. Users can start sessions with keyboard shortcuts, provide context through files or selected code, track progress in editor tabs, review diffs, run tests, send feedback, and view estimated session costs. The introductory workflow emphasizes assigning focused tasks such as code exploration, bug investigation, or feature implementation, then using familiar IDE tools to evaluate whether agent-produced changes are ready to accept.
