This collaboration aims to offer developers enhanced flexibility, control, and integration with native mobile libraries, alongside benefiting from a vibrant community with frequent contributions. Initially created in 2018 to address limitations posed by Cordova, Capacitor has significantly grown, reaching over 650,000 monthly downloads and being rated the top mobile development tool for developer satisfaction in the State of JS survey. As the low-code market continues to expand, Ionic anticipates that more platforms will adopt Capacitor, further strengthening its impact on the development ecosystem.
