Salesforce signs definitive agreement to acquire Fin
Blog post from Intercom
Salesforce has signed an agreement to acquire Fin, formerly known as Intercom, for approximately $3.6 billion, with the transaction expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027. Fin, which began as a pioneering SaaS company 15 years ago, recently rebranded to mark its transformation and has been instrumental in defining the Customer Agents category through innovative use of modern LLMs. Salesforce, led by Marc Benioff, is known for its leadership in software and SaaS, and this acquisition allows Fin to leverage Salesforce's resources to expand its reach and accelerate its development, including its groundbreaking Apex model and the Operator agent. Despite the acquisition, Fin's leadership, including CEO and co-founder Des Traynor, will remain in place, continuing their commitment to the company's mission while expressing gratitude to customers, employees, and stakeholders for their support during this pivotal moment.
