Same Language, Same Visibility: AWS CDK Support is Here

AWS CDK presents an appealing option for engineers seeking a unified approach to application and infrastructure code by allowing the use of a single programming language, such as TypeScript or Python, throughout the development process. However, this choice previously involved a trade-off in cost visibility compared to Terraform. Infracost Cloud now addresses this gap by natively supporting AWS CDK, offering cost estimates and policy enforcement for TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python without requiring changes to existing pipelines. This integration provides engineers with immediate feedback on infrastructure costs and potential code issues directly within their workflow, highlighting specific lines of code that need modification. Developed in collaboration with community engineers, this feature aims to enhance cost visibility by fitting seamlessly into developers' existing practices. While currently available in early access, further enhancements, including CLI and IDE support, are planned for the future.
