Infracost has made significant enhancements to its CLI and Cloud offerings to better support large enterprises with extensive code repositories and complex workflows. The newly improved Infracost CLI features a faster graph-based parser and auto-detects projects within repositories, simplifying cost analysis for environments and stacks without the need for cumbersome configuration files. This update is particularly beneficial for companies managing multiple environments and stacks, allowing them to easily assess the cost impact of changes and address tagging policy failures and FinOps recommendations. In response to AWS's new Extended Support costs for outdated RDS and EKS versions, Infracost Cloud now includes FinOps policies that alert engineers to update their code to avoid substantial cost increases. Tagging policy filters have been introduced to ensure comprehensive tagging across diverse repositories while accommodating complex use cases. Additionally, CI/CD integrations have been expanded to work with Infracost Cloud, enabling enterprises with strict network policies to incorporate FinOps practices. These improvements, driven by community feedback, have helped Infracost gain over 10,000 stars on GitHub.
