March 2021: New diff command and usage file automation!
Blog post from Infracost
In March, significant updates were introduced to Infracost, including new features and enhancements to the CLI and CI/CD integrations, alongside participation in Y Combinator's demo day. The latest version (v0.8.3) allows users to view cost differences between current and planned states of Terraform projects directly in the CLI, a feature previously exclusive to CI/CD integrations. Automated generation of usage-based resource definitions is now possible with the new --sync-usage-file option, simplifying the process for AWS Lambda and Google Cloud Storage users. The inputs, outputs, and config files have been streamlined for ease of use, enabling better support for multiple workspaces and projects. Updates to pull request comment options now allow customization based on cost changes. Additionally, work is underway to integrate Microsoft Azure into Infracost, with significant progress made in pricing API additions, and community contributions are sought for CLI resource integration. Support for various new AWS and Google cloud resources has also been added, enhancing the tool's capabilities.
