January update: New GitHub bot & 3 new Graviton policies
Blog post from Infracost
Infracost has launched new updates for 2025, including Graviton policies for EC2, ECS, and Lambda, building on last year's successful use for RDS, ElastiCache, and OpenSearch to achieve cost savings. These policies promise 20% savings and performance improvements when adopting ARM64 architecture for AWS services. To streamline Graviton adoption, Infracost has introduced a GitHub bot that allows engineers to manage infrastructure cost issues directly in pull requests, facilitating seamless communication between FinOps teams and developers without the need for Jira tickets. The Infracost Cloud platform now offers comprehensive progress tracking for issue resolution and introduces capabilities like replaying events from GitHub, GitLab, and Azure Repos to prevent delays, along with enhanced Azure Repos PR comments for better issue tracking. Additionally, the latest Infracost CLI version brings significant performance enhancements, supporting new AWS regions, CloudFront Functions, and improved Terragrunt parsing.
