Infracost has announced the addition of Microsoft Azure support for its cloud cost estimation tool, which is already available for AWS and Google Cloud Platform, enabling users to receive cost estimates directly within pull requests as part of the CI/CD workflow. This enhancement allows engineering teams to be informed of potential cost implications from infrastructure changes before they are implemented, thus promoting more economical and efficient use of cloud resources. The update responds to community demand and the growing use of Azure's extensive resources, now covering over 65 chargeable Azure resources and another 70 that are free, with plans to expand further. Additionally, Infracost has incorporated support for Microsoft Azure DevOps Pipelines, complementing its existing integrations with platforms like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins, making it easier for developers to integrate cost estimation into their workflow and avoid unexpected expenses.
