Q3 2026 Recap: Up to 4x Faster Single-Series Queries, Distributed Compaction, and Telegraf Controller High Availability
Blog post from InfluxData
During Q3, InfluxData released updates to InfluxDB, Telegraf, Telegraf Controller, and Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB focused on scaling data workloads, fleet management, and AWS integration. InfluxDB 3.11 added enterprise performance enhancements for selective and complex queries, support for broad and sparse schemas, steadier memory usage during ingest, backup and restore, Parquet bulk imports, row-level deletes, and a unified Explorer interface. InfluxDB 3.12 introduced approximately threefold faster bulk imports, beta distributed compaction, per-database schema enforcement, and generally available role-based access control, with upgrades performed in place but subject to new multi-node requirements. Amazon Timestream for InfluxDB added direct AWS IoT Core ingestion, custom Python Processing Engine plugins, and availability in eight additional AWS regions. Telegraf Controller 1.1 added high availability for Enterprise users along with centralized configuration tools, versioning, rollback visibility, and expanded enterprise administration features, while Telegraf 1.40 introduced Databricks Zerobus and Fritzbox Smarthome plugins, updated several existing integrations, and removed deprecated plugins and options.
