Humanitec has introduced a new security feature called the Agent, which acts as a bridge between its Platform Orchestrator and private networks. After months of beta testing, this powerful tool is now ready for production use. The Agent allows users to control network traffic and ensure compliance with security guidelines for access management. It addresses concerns regarding exposing endpoints to the public internet by establishing secure communication tunnels in private networks. By giving security teams complete control over external service access, it reinforces security measures within an Internal Developer Platform (IDP). The Humanitec Agent is a component of its security suite alongside the Operator, which manages secrets. Both can be used independently and have different use cases.
