Welcome FLUX.3 Image Klein in Diffusers: The latest open image generation model from Black Forest Labs
Blog post from Hugging Face
Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.3 Image Klein is an open image-generation model available immediately in Hugging Face Diffusers, supporting text-to-image generation, multi-reference image-to-image workflows, and bounding-box-based layout control within a single model. Its distilled checkpoint produces 1024×1024 images in 16 steps, reportedly in about two seconds on an NVIDIA H100, while a 50-step base model supports classifier-free guidance and LoRA fine-tuning; BF16, FP8, and NVFP4 variants provide different memory and hardware tradeoffs. Layout prompts use normalized JSON bounding boxes to place new elements or reposition objects from reference images, and multiple references can be identified in prompts through indexed tokens. The post also describes DreamBooth LoRA scripts for style training and instruction-based editing, performance and VRAM benchmarks, and CPU-offloading and text-embedding caching options. Architecturally, FLUX.3 is a latent flow-matching model using a FLUX.2-derived VAE, Qwen3-VL text features, separate initial processing streams for text, generated-image, and reference-image tokens, followed by shared joint transformer blocks that combine all modalities. Its Modular Diffusers implementation lets users inspect, remove, replace, or add pipeline stages, enabling customized workflows such as cached prompt encoding and intermediate denoising previews.
