PII Detection for Brinqa Risk Prioritization - HoundDog.ai
Blog post from HoundDog.ai
Brinqa has introduced a new connector with HoundDog.ai, a static code scanner, to enhance privacy and security by integrating Personal Identifiable Information (PII) leak detection and management into existing risk workflows. HoundDog.ai specializes in identifying unintentional data leaks caused by developer errors, such as overlogging or oversharing sensitive information, and extends traditional Application Security (AppSec) coverage by focusing on PII, PHI, and CHD exposures in logs, files, and third-party integrations. This integration allows organizations to adopt a privacy-first security approach by proactively detecting and mitigating PII exposure in code before it reaches production, thereby reducing remediation costs and strengthening their overall security posture. The connector aims to bridge the gap between AppSec and Data Security teams, which traditionally lack visibility into sensitive data flows, and enhances risk assessment by factoring in data sensitivity, crucial given that PII accounted for 92% of compromised data in 2023.
