Highlight is joining forces with LaunchDarkly to become a first-party observability solution within the LaunchDarkly platform, enhancing the synergy between observability and feature flags through real-time monitoring and context for releases. Co-founders Jay Khatri and Vadim will lead the observability efforts, aiming to improve debugging, monitoring, and code release processes. While Highlight will eventually be integrated into LaunchDarkly, it will continue to operate independently for now, ensuring no immediate changes to current user accounts, pricing, or product experiences. The integration is expected to be completed in 6–12 months, with Highlight's infrastructure and site being maintained in the interim. Current users can keep using Highlight without a LaunchDarkly account, and the open-source repository will remain active for community collaboration. The merger aims to accelerate the development of observability features while maintaining transparency with users about upcoming changes.
