The HashiCorp team has released a tech preview version of Nomad Pack, a package manager and templating tool for Nomad. With this release, the Nomad Pack for a Pack contest is now live, allowing users to win prizes such as a HashiCorp backpack or a Nomad t-shirt by contributing reusable application deployments called "Packs" to the community. Packs can be used to easily deploy popular open source applications, reuse deployment patterns across teams within an organization, and discover job specifications from the Nomad community. The contest is monthly, with winners selected based on production-readiness, usage, demonstration of features, and general usefulness, as well as the first community-contributed pack accepted. Users can start writing packs using the Writing Custom Packs Learn Guide, which provides an easy process for converting existing templates to Nomad Packs.
