New Learn Tutorials: Secure Consul with Vault's Secret Engines

To secure Consul agents and access to data, HashiCorp has released three new tutorials on its Learn platform that demonstrate how to integrate Consul with Vault for added security. The first tutorial focuses on securing agent-to-agent gossip communication using symmetric keys and gossip key rotation, while the second tutorial covers securing Consul's consensus and RPC traffic with Vault-managed mTLS certificates. The third tutorial explains how to configure the Consul secrets engine in Vault to deliver Vault-managed Consul Access Control tokens. These tutorials are part of a broader effort to enhance Consul security features, including new Consul 1.9 tutorials that introduce features such as application-aware intentions with Consul Service Mesh and load balancing services.
