HashiCorp is updating its HCP Waypoint platform to empower platform teams to define golden patterns and workflows for developers to manage applications at scale, addressing challenges such as software management complexity and consistency, evolving application needs, and lack of insights. The new vision aims to provide a clear and consistent developer experience while providing a central catalog of applications and their associated metadata. HCP Waypoint now supports templates and add-ons, enabling platform teams to abstract and standardize application scaffolding and manage application dependencies, respectively. These features represent the first installments in HashiCorp's plans to execute on its new roadmap, with additional features in the works, including creating golden workflows, rich application insights, and environments.
