How Chaos Engineering Prevents Production Failures | Harness Blog
Blog post from Harness
Harness Resilience Testing, introduced by Harness in public preview, is a chaos engineering module designed to help DevOps and SRE teams identify reliability weaknesses by deliberately simulating production-like failures. It supports experiments such as Kubernetes pod deletion, CPU and memory stress, network latency, corruption and DNS failures, and temporary VMware virtual-machine outages. The platform integrates with CI/CD, GitOps, and observability tools so resilience testing can be incorporated into automated delivery workflows, while its experiment library can grow through contributions from Harness users and the Litmus open-source community. Harness also emphasizes enterprise security through self-hosted, on-premises, and air-gapped deployment options, along with private experiment repositories called Private Chaos Hubs. The approach aims to expose vulnerabilities before they result in outages, reduce recovery time, and limit the financial and reputational costs of downtime.
