Harness announced an integration with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore Gateway that extends its AI posture management and runtime firewall capabilities to AWS agent interactions. The integration continuously discovers AI assets such as agents, tools, MCP servers, prompts, APIs, and resources, while monitoring multi-step agent-to-tool activity for threats including prompt injection and sensitive-data leakage. Harness argues that traditional controls such as authentication, authorization, and API validation remain necessary but may not detect harmful sequences in which authorized agents are manipulated into taking unsafe actions. By analyzing complete agent journeys, including the initiating client, selected tools, accessed resources, and data flows, the platform aims to give security teams trace-level context for investigation and response. The offering builds on Harness’s existing API security and behavioral analysis capabilities, reflecting the view that agent interactions are dynamic extensions of API journeys and require sequence-aware protection as enterprises deploy increasingly autonomous AI systems.
