Graphite is a new, modern code review platform designed to enhance the efficiency and enjoyment of the code review process for fast-paced software teams. Originating from a need for more powerful tools than those available at major tech companies, Graphite emphasizes features like stacked changes, allowing developers to break down large tasks into manageable, independently testable, and reviewable segments. This approach helps authors get faster, higher-quality feedback and allows reviewers to focus on comprehensible changes, reducing re-review time and facilitating easier troubleshooting. Inspired by the shutdown of Phabricator, Graphite offers a streamlined, customizable interface with features such as a keyboard-first workflow, quick response times, and engaging elements like gifs to make code review less tedious. By storing all pull requests and reviews directly on GitHub, Graphite enables individual use without requiring team-wide tool changes, and is currently inviting users to join its private beta to help redefine code review standards.
