After emigrating from the UK to Canada, he now resides on Vancouver Island and works on Pacific Standard Time. With over two decades of engineering experience, Heds enjoys the diverse responsibilities of his role, which range from writing blog posts to running product trials and collaborating with various teams to enhance customer experiences. He contributes to open-source projects, notably in the balena OSS IoT ecosystem, and has personal projects involving IoT systems for monitoring beehives. In his leisure time, Heds indulges in hobbies such as gaming, hiking, canoeing, and cooking, and he recently upgraded his ice cream-making skills with a new Lello Musso Lussino ice cream maker.
