The Go programming language is coming to Google App Engine
Blog post from Google Cloud
In May 2011, Google App Engine announced the addition of Go as the third programming language option, alongside Python and Java, for developing applications on its platform. Go, an open-source language designed by Google and released in 2009, is recognized for its static typing, compiled nature, and lightweight dynamic feel, which make it suitable for CPU-intensive tasks. The language's features, such as garbage collection, concurrency support, and robust libraries, enhance its suitability for web applications. The App Engine SDK for Go is now available for download, allowing developers to easily experiment with Go applications locally, and interested users can sign up for early testing before it becomes widely available, although it will initially remain an experimental feature. More information about this development can be found on the Go Programming Language blog.
